Upon finishing the Cleveland tradition of Clambake Season, Charles Young recently traveled to see some of our valued vendors in Boston and Portland. Relationships are critical to our success and our customers success especially as we head into our holiday season and beyond.
A significant focus of our sourcing going into 2025 will be on North American wild fisheries and aquaculture. Charles was able to see firsthand the great lengths and high standards that our industry holds itself too for sourcing product for our customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky. Although we get in these fresh shipments weekly, experiencing the processing and handling in person helps us better understand products and our company's purpose.
Highlights of the trip included seeing some undervalued species that offer great value, new shellfish operations and further understanding of the changing fisheries in New England and North Atlantic. From hanging out on an oyster farm to seeing live eels, sharing the story of these products is our due diligence as a distributor.
The seafood business is filled with extremely passionate individuals who not only care about their product, but the environment and the husbandry of the fisheries and farms. We are excited to roll out more customer initiatives in the new year and support our vendor community. Thank you to our vendors for your hospitality!
